The Black Knights Chess Club invites you to join one of our teams that play U.S.C.F. rated chess games in the D.C. Chess League.
This is a great opportunity for chess players to have lots of fun playing and competing in the game of chess.
We play seven to nine (7-9) games during the winter season and four to five (4-5) games during the summer season. These games are played on Fridays, generally once a month starting at 7:30 pm.
This is also a great opportunity to improve your game. Typically, when the game is over, your opponent, other players and you go over your game (win or lose) to see if there was better play (postmortem).
Joining our team is easy
1) Register for a team (Required)
2.) Pay $20.00 to the captain of your team
3) Substitutes play for free for now
4) We will respond by:
a. putting you on a four-person team (or you can bring in a four person team)
b. informing you of the schedule (the dates, times and where you play)
BEFORE YOU JOIN
Becoming a Black Knight team member is a RESPONSIBILITY.
The team captain and the team expect you to show up for each event.
Forfeits are a black mark. There will be times that you just cannot play on a particular night. This is understood. On those occasions, it is imperative that you inform your team captain as soon as possible in order that a substitute can replaced you.
We still need players to fill teams
